Content & Community Guidelines

Last Updated: 03/10/2026

1. Introduction

LEMOON is an open platform for discovering, publishing, and sharing comics created by people from around the world.

These Content & Community Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed when publishing or interacting on LEMOON. They apply to Creator Content, profiles, comments, replies, and other User Content.

By using LEMOON, you agree to follow these Guidelines together with our Terms of Service.

2. No AI-Generated Content

LEMOON is built for human creativity. We believe comics should be created by people, and we want to promote the work of human creators only.

Content created through generative AI is not allowed on LEMOON and may be removed.

Creators are responsible for ensuring that the Content they publish complies with this rule. If we have reasonable concerns about whether Content complies, we may review it and request additional information from the Creator.

Repeated or serious violations may result in additional enforcement actions under these Guidelines and our Terms of Service.

3. Community Conduct

LEMOON should remain a welcoming and respectful place for Readers and Creators.

When interacting with others, you must not:

  • harass, bully, threaten, intimidate, or target another User;
  • attack or demean people based on protected characteristics;
  • share another person's private or personal information without permission;
  • impersonate another person, Creator, organization, or LEMOON;
  • use comments, profiles, messages, or other community features for scams, phishing, or deceptive behavior;
  • repeatedly spam, provoke, or disrupt conversations or community spaces;
  • abuse reporting tools or submit reports in bad faith.

Disagreement, criticism, and discussion are allowed, including strong opinions, as long as they do not cross into harassment, threats, or other prohibited behavior.

Content or behavior that violates these rules may be removed or subject to other enforcement actions.

4. Creator & Publishing Responsibilities

Creators are responsible for the Content they publish on LEMOON.

Before publishing, you must make sure that:

  • you own the Content or have the rights and permissions required to publish it;
  • the Content complies with these Guidelines and our Terms of Service;
  • any mature or sensitive Content is labelled appropriately;
  • titles, covers, descriptions, tags, and other presentation elements accurately represent the Content and are not intentionally misleading.

Fiction may explore difficult, controversial, or sensitive subjects. Context matters, and depicting a subject does not necessarily mean promoting or endorsing it. However, marking Content as Mature does not make otherwise prohibited Content acceptable.

LEMOON may remove, restrict, or relabel Content that does not meet these requirements.

5. Mature & NSFW Content

LEMOON welcomes stories for different audiences, including stories that explore mature, explicit, intense, or sensitive themes.

Mature Content is allowed on LEMOON when it is correctly labelled.

5.1. Mature Content

Content should be marked as Mature when it contains material that may not be appropriate for younger audiences, including:

  • nudity or sexual content;
  • explicit consensual sexual activity between adults;
  • erotic or strongly suggestive content;
  • graphic violence, blood, or gore;
  • strong or explicit language;
  • drug or alcohol abuse;
  • self-harm, suicide, or other disturbing themes;
  • other intense or sensitive material intended for a mature audience.

This list is not exhaustive. Creators are responsible for using reasonable judgment when deciding whether their Content should be marked Mature.

5.2. Series and Episode Labels

Creators can apply the Mature label:

  • to an entire series when mature Content is recurring or central to the work; or
  • to individual episodes when only specific episodes contain mature Content.

If a series is generally suitable for a wider audience but contains occasional mature episodes, those episodes should be labelled individually.

Creators are responsible for keeping these labels accurate as their series evolves.

5.3. LEMOON May Adjust Mature Labels

If Content is not labelled appropriately, LEMOON may add, modify, or require a Mature classification.

We may also restrict the visibility or accessibility of Content where necessary to provide an appropriate experience for different audiences.

Incorrect or repeated failure to apply appropriate labels may result in additional moderation action.

5.4. Mature Does Not Mean Unrestricted

The Mature label allows adult-oriented Content to be published on LEMOON, however a Mature label does not override these Guidelines. Content that is prohibited elsewhere in this policy remains prohibited regardless of how it is labelled.

6. Content That Is Always Prohibited

Some Content is not permitted on LEMOON regardless of whether it is fictional, labelled Mature, or intended for an adult audience.

The following Content is prohibited:

  • sexual Content involving minors or characters presented as minors;
  • sexualization, exploitation, or abuse of minors;
  • child sexual abuse material or any Content that promotes, facilitates, or normalizes the sexual exploitation of children;
  • graphic or eroticized sexual violence;
  • graphic non-consensual sexual activity;
  • sexual activity involving characters unable to consent;
  • graphic consensual non-consent / rape-roleplay;
  • sexual incest between close family members;
  • necrophilia;
  • Content created to sexually exploit, abuse, or humiliate a real person without their consent;
  • Content promoting or facilitating human trafficking, sexual exploitation, or other serious abuse;
  • Content that directly instructs, facilitates, or encourages serious illegal activity;
  • Content that is itself illegal to publish or distribute.

Stories may depict difficult subjects such as abuse, exploitation, crime, or trauma when they are presented in a legitimate narrative context and comply with the rest of these Guidelines.

LEMOON may remove prohibited Content immediately and may take additional action against the associated Account.

7. Hate, Harassment & Discrimination in Content

Stories may portray prejudice, discrimination, hateful characters, extremist beliefs, or other difficult subjects when they are part of a legitimate narrative, historical, critical, educational, or satirical context.

Depicting harmful beliefs or behavior does not automatically mean endorsing them.

However, Content must not:

  • promote or encourage hatred, violence, or discrimination against people based on protected characteristics;
  • dehumanize or seriously demean individuals or groups based on those characteristics;
  • encourage the exclusion, persecution, or targeted abuse of protected groups;
  • promote, recruit for, or meaningfully support violent extremist organizations or ideologies.

These rules apply both to Creator Content and to other Content shared through LEMOON.

LEMOON may remove or restrict Content that crosses the line from depiction or discussion into promotion, incitement, or targeted abuse.

8. Violence, Self-Harm & Dangerous Content

LEMOON allows stories to explore violence, crime, self-harm, suicide, addiction, and other difficult subjects when they are presented in a narrative context and labelled appropriately when Mature Content is involved.

Fictional violence, including graphic violence or gore, is allowed when it complies with these Guidelines.

Content must not:

  • encourage, glorify, or instruct people to commit suicide or self-harm;
  • provide practical instructions intended to facilitate serious violence or harm against others;
  • encourage participation in dangerous or seriously illegal activities;
  • promote or recruit for real-world violent extremist organizations;
  • use graphic real-world violence primarily to shock, exploit, or celebrate serious harm.

Depicting a harmful act, character, or situation does not automatically violate these Guidelines. We consider the context and purpose of the Content when reviewing it.

Content that creates a serious safety risk or violates these rules may be restricted or removed.

9. Intellectual Property

Only publish Content that you own or have the legal right to use.

You must not:

  • upload or republish comics, artwork, images, or other material without permission;
  • copy or substantially reproduce another creator's work;
  • use copyrighted or trademarked material in a way that infringes another person's rights;
  • distribute pirated Content or links intended to provide unauthorized access to copyrighted works;
  • falsely claim ownership of another person's work.

LEMOON may remove Content that infringes intellectual property rights and may take additional action against repeat or serious violations.

Copyright and intellectual property complaints may also be handled under our Copyright & Intellectual Property Policy.

10. Spam, Advertising & External Links

Creators may share relevant external links where LEMOON allows them. External promotion is permitted as long as it does not disrupt the community or mislead Users.

The following is not allowed:

  • spam or repetitive unsolicited promotion;
  • deceptive, misleading, or malicious links;
  • phishing, scams, or fraudulent offers;
  • Content or Accounts created primarily for unrelated advertising;
  • excessive or disruptive promotion that interferes with normal use of the Services.

Unrelated, excessive, deceptive, repetitive, or disruptive advertising or promotion that harms the community experience is not allowed and may be removed.

LEMOON may restrict or remove promotional Content that violates these rules.

11. Profiles, Comments & Other Community Content

These Guidelines also apply to User Profiles, usernames, avatars, bios, comments, replies, links, and other community contributions.

Community Content must not be used to:

  • harass, threaten, impersonate, or target other Users;
  • share private or personal information without permission;
  • post hateful, discriminatory, illegal, or exploitative material;
  • spread spam, scams, phishing attempts, or misleading links;
  • evade moderation or repeat Content that has already been removed.

LEMOON may remove or restrict community Content that violates these Guidelines and may take action against Accounts involved in repeated or serious violations.

12. Reporting & Enforcement

Users may report Content or behavior they believe violates these Guidelines using the reporting tools available through LEMOON.

Submitting a report does not automatically result in removal or enforcement. We may review the Content, its context, the information available, and the applicable rules before deciding whether action is necessary.

Depending on the situation, LEMOON may:

  • apply or adjust a Mature label;
  • restrict visibility or access;
  • remove Content;
  • issue a warning;
  • restrict access to certain features;
  • restrict participation in monetization Programs;
  • suspend or terminate an Account.

The action taken may depend on the nature, severity, context, and history of the violation.

Abusing the reporting system, including submitting knowingly false, malicious, or repetitive reports intended to target another User, is not allowed and may itself result in enforcement action.

LEMOON may take immediate action when necessary to protect Users, Creators, the platform, or others.

13. Changes & Contact

We may update these Guidelines from time to time as LEMOON and our community evolve. The latest version will always indicate when it was last updated.

By continuing to use LEMOON after updated Guidelines take effect, you agree to follow the revised version.
